Tillman因右肩不適，8月底進入了傷兵名單，今天他復出對決老虎隊王牌投手Justin Verlander，表現相當精采，先發6局僅在5局下被Ian Kinsler適時敲出失掉1分，Brad Brach投第7局，Mychal Givens投第8局，Zach Britton投第9局都沒失分，Britton本季第41次救援成功。
Verlander此戰只先發5局，3局上被Michael Bourn轟出2分彈（本季第5轟），4局上又被Jonathan Schoop轟陽春砲（本季第23轟），這2轟讓Verlander吞下敗投（14勝8敗），金賢洙此戰2打數沒安打，本季打擊率3成08。
金鶯隊贏了這場比賽，戰績78勝64敗，在外卡榜上與藍鳥隊並居領先，老虎隊76勝66敗與洋基隊相同，美聯外卡爭奪戰相當激烈，球季後段的每場比賽都相當重要。
